Margaret manages the coordination of events and electronic communications for the Council. She works collaboratively with the rest of the staff to assist in the development, planning, execution, and reporting of seminars, symposia, and other events.
Margaret joined the Council after spending a year working in Communications and Media Relations at the Muslim Public Affairs Council, a public policy- and media-focused non-profit in Northeast Los Angeles.
Margaret’s background is in social science, with an emphasis in survey design and qualitative analysis. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Occidental College, where she also studied Spanish.
Sara Willard is Accounting and Administrative Assistant. She has varied accounting/business
experience having worked with several for profit and non-profit businesses,
including the L.A. Museum of Natural History. She was an editor for the Music Center performing
arts magazine and worked for the Los Angeles Master Chorale. She also co-owned a catering company called
“Beauty and the Feast”.
Sara graduated from Occidental College with a degree in
Music, and enjoys an adjunct life in music
when not wrangling numbers. She turned to Accounting as a mid-life career
change. Passionate cooking, travel,
reading and knitting also figure into her life and vie for her attention (much
to the chagrin of her cats.)
