Safe to Swim: Weekly data on water quality
Through the Los Angeles River Watershed Monitoring Program (LARWMP), we monitor swim sites from Memorial Day to Labor Day, with an emphasis on holidays and weekends, for bacteria that indicate the presence of human and animal waste. This type of information is valuable because it informs Angelenos visiting our streams and recreation sites of any potential public health concerns and about the water quality of sites visitors enjoy every summer.
Empowered with this information and helpful hints along the way about swimming in our watershed’s streams and kayaking at unique sites along our river, we hope you enjoy exploring your watershed and help spread the word on watershed stewardship and the value of our river.
